Do you think it's profitable to hire translater to translate all your sites into German language? I think it will give you lots of new traffic.
Please post your opinion here.
yeah, but if you're talking about paysites/avs you have to make them conform to their regulations as well. I'm not a lawyer and I know nothing about German Regs. But what I read is that there's a law that regulates AVS's and it's not as easy to follow it.
But what they say is that german market is not as big as american one. There's spanish market as well. So may be it makes sense to translate into spanish too :)

I was talking to translate linklist for example - all new sites will be automatically translated into German or Spanish for example by special reviewer.

Besides English, I think Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian and Chinese are definitely languages that must be considered (as well as Japanese, Korean and Indian) to capitalize on those markets. Think of the traffic possibilities! Paysites should also consider these markets as well.

As for Russian and Chinese - for this moment I don't know how to make good money from this traffic :(
It makes perfect sense - more languages should equal more visitors.

And I think that those money webmaster spends on translator will be generously repaid. I'm thinking about to hire cheap translator who will translate all descriptions and titles in my linklists into German for example.
I know that they are not 100% correct, but have you tried one of the free language tools (such as translate a web page) offered by Google?
I use it all the time: members ask if we offer pages in other languages and I provide them with the link and they usually can understand the translated text
Of course, text that is actually an image can not be done.

What do you think - if I translate my linklist into German or Spanish for example - is it good idea to translate only titles and descriptions of sites or it's better to translate names of categories too? :wink:

It's very easy to translate titles and descriptions for sites in my linklist http://www.fuckingbeaver.com/ but it's not too easy to translate all site. I need to make lots of changes. For example I write There are {num_sites} in the database and it's is only for english language.

But if I've done it - I can submit it to different local area search engines. I think I can get lots of traffic from them. But I still don't know how to do it more correctly.

Again about this subject - I think that this translation will be of low quality :( For example - there are synonyms for some words in each language. And there are also synonyms for the frases in different languages. For example if I try to translate "fucking" from English into Spanish I get - "el vete a la mierda". If I try to translate again I get "it vetoes to the excrement" - you see this is not the same as "fucking".
But sure I can make lots of doorways using this instrument.

hmm I think it can be good idea to translate sites using scripts or translators ...even in low quality - SE robots see this sites and indexing it making Your site higher in search results. I didn`t try it but i will check it :) .
