Several days ago I came across a2hosting.com and found out that it offers semi-dedicated servers at affordable price. But the reason for my asking is that I wanna know the main difference between semi-dedicated server and VPS hosting.
Could you explain me this?

Semi-dedicated server - you share a server with several people. It's not reliable becuase one day you can find that somebody from them uses 90% of resources on this server.
VPS - you have some resources with a guarantee. Nobody will use your resources. But you can't use 90% of resources on your server too.

It's common knowledge that VPS has much better uptime, is much faster, and gives you much more freedom and I think that you should choose VPS offered by a2hosting.com - this is reputable company. Even when they do encounter a fault, they are quick and responsive about it.

First of all I would like to say that you will have nice hosting opportunities dealing with a2hosting.com - they provide fast speed connectivity and great network uptime, so your visitors will not be waiting for hours when your pages of the site will be uploaded. I absolutely agree with Yahook and suggest you to buy their VPS hosting plan instead of semi-dedicated server.
