We have our own programmers and designers, and have not needed to look for or hire either since I've been around (6 years or so).

However, if we HAD to acquire, I'd simply throw a rock out the window with a notice attached to it: wanted: programmer &/or designer needed...

There is no shortage of either (along with all other 'positions' in our industry) ... so plentiful were falling from trees.

I can extend a little the topic theme. Where do you usually find experienced and high-class staff.
There is no big deal to find a programmer, but hard work to find a _good_ one. Think that the same with a designers and all other :)

Draff - you right

I usually find _good_ workers in offline - newspapers and so on.
AND they work in my office, so I can control them.
I interviewed each personally, after interview I give one of them
from 1 to 3 moth of testing work, and finally one of them get
permanent job.

Telecommute is not very good idea - cose you can't control your workers.
