Now, why has this perfect (but not 100%) solution taking so long to instate? ICANN (not understand what meathead is running the organization) is the guilty party!
An obvious solution, for controlling online porn viewing by un-wanting eyes, was presented to The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), over five-years ago. It was quickly squashed/rejected, without an intelligent debate and for no good reason.
Think of it this way: you are out one day and you want to hire/acquire a hooker, so what do you do? Simple, you go where the hookers are.
Not, while your shopping at Wally-Mart ladies (or gentlemen) of the eve jump out at you from the trailer accessories aisles. (Oh, is the whining I hear ... and me without cheese?)
I have no issues with adult-sites being located on a dedicated or ‘red-light’ domain, as that clearly states the intentions of the site, as well the visitor – you are about to view triple-X content … porn.
I am not sure about others in this industry, but as someone who tries to do things honestly, I am not interested in visitors whom were originally looking for Hello Kitty wear, but instead were directed to our site. I want someone that is looking for porn.
The idea is very simple, yet very effective - ALL porn belongs on a XXX domain! Want porn … you know where to go. (WOW, just imagine what ratios will look like.)
Mummy & Daddy … you can now control your child’s online experience by blocking all .xxx domains. EASY PEASY (now piss-off and go to the next crusade on your list)!
I have heard/received a ton of static for my point of view by ‘colleagues’ whom feel this will rip money from their grubby little mitts … too bad, your past earnings, chances are, have been generated by means and intentions which are not good (think blood money).
I believe things need to be done for the right reason, not the greedy ones.
