Marketing a Directory

Hello,

As a noob in the adult webmaster arena, I wanted your veterans' advice on methods to market an adult directory. Obviously, there are two sides to market - the users, who wish to use the directory to find sites, and the webmaster side - who will have their links included.

Basically, I am pretty clueless on methods to get the common users to the site. I have some ideas on getting webmasters to the site.

Any advice is appreciated.

Make small sites and submit them to your own directory. You will get some surfers from there to your directory and make it more attractive for webmasters.

You can also submit your directory to the sites containing resources for adult webmasters like crazyfrog.com etc. :)

I'm also a n00b in this business :)
But like Inarus says, what I do is I create a lot of sites and submit them to other link sites and put recips for their sites as well as my own on the front. This is a very legit way of generating "real" traffic, instead of unnamed hoax banner exchange programs etc.
I believe this has the added advantage that you can control (to some extend) what kind of traffic you get. Personally I'm not a fan of TGP traffic. :roll:
